Position Title: IT Support Technician
F.L.S.A.: Non-exempt
Reports To: Network Manager
Terms of Employment: 12 months
Qualifications:
- Minimum - Associates Degree (preferred) in computer technology or related field
- Certifications preferred - A+, Network +
- Experience preferred - 5 years in computer technology or related field
The applicant should have proficient knowledge, skills, and experience in the following areas:
- Computer hardware and software systems and programs
- Computer networks, network administration and network installation
- Computer troubleshooting
- Current version of Windows Server and Active Directory
- Ability to install and administer computer hardware, software and networks
- Team building skills
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Decision making skills
- Effective verbal and listening communications skills
- Effective written communications skills
- Computer skills including the ability to operate computerized, spreadsheet, word-processing, programs at a proficient level
Essential Job Functions:
- Troubleshoot all technology issues
- Maintain log and/or list of required repairs and maintenance
- Make recommendations about purchase of technology resources
- Research current and potential resources and services
- Provide network access to all staff and students
- Install work stations
- Connect and set up hardware
- Load all required software
- Provide network accounts and passwords as required
- Input and maintain IP addresses
- Advise staff of security breach and/or change in password or security status
- Identify and prepare hardware for disposal when appropriate
- Ensure hardware is stripped and secured before disposal
Other Job Functions :
- Assist area network specialists as directed by network manager
- Assist in the management, installation, and maintenance of wireless networks
- Other duties as assigned by Assistant Superintendent for Operations
